We love this place! Small town diner feeling, where they get to know your name and your order by heart! Service is good, but be prepared to be patient if you go for breakfast on the weekend, as this place is very busy on the weekends. Breakfast is my favorite here, but they also have a good selection of sandwiches and entrees. Local owner who gives back to the community in many ways.
Would be 0 zero stars if google would allow. Went there on 09/11/2017 after Hurricane Irma and obviously they were busy because of all the people but they were so unorganized. You know your going to be busy the day after the hurricane, then I suggest get it together before you open instead of rushing and having attitude with paid customers. Waited 25 minutes to get seated because at the time they only had 2 servers and one section of the restaurant blocked off. Once we sat down, we had people that did not even work at the restaurant taking our drink orders. Waited 40 minutes and still no one came to take our order, yet they opened up the other section because other servers finally arrived but began seating other people before making sure everyone at the first side was taken care of. 5 families that were after us were served, ate and left before I even placed my order. The family before me, was sitting right behind me and they ended up leaving because after 45 minutes still no one came to either table to acknowledge that we are there except for the people that did not work at the restaurant that brought us waters. As I explained my frustration to a lady that came to our table, she stated she did not work there. Another lady, I think her name was Pat who works at the restaurant sat than sat at my table and said that we have to understand that they are busy, I cut her off and told her that I completely understand that, what I don't understand is how 5 families that came in after me got served, ate and already left before I even got to order my food. She stated that is because they were seated in the section that was first closed off. I told her that is completely bad service and that the servers that came in should have helped on her side if it was too hectic before seating more people if they couldn't handle it. She told me "Well then you can just leave!" Mind you at this point, I was trying to leave as now I have waited well over an hour to have attitude like that towards me because I am upset is bad customer service. As I was going to wait to ask if I can just have my food boxed up to take home, I just decided to leave. I heard Pat many times while I was waiting, going to other customers tables saying "Hurry up and tell me what you want, we are slammed" or "If you don't know what you want to order, I will have to go to other tables and don't know when I will get back to yours" I just couldn't believe how horrible the attitude and customer service is. I don't care how busy or slammed you are, these are still paying customers. We are not paying to be rushed out or to have attitude towards. You should get it together, breath for a second and have some patients like your customers do when they have to wait for an hour and a half just to be waited on and then to get attitude from the servers because THEY are taking a long time and haven't even came to the table once. Will never be coming here again or referring anyone to this restaurant. RIDICULOUS!
Inexpensive eats in very homestyle atmosphere. Very small town eatery feel. Food is decent, but nothing to write home about. Prime rib was more like a steak (thrown on the grill as opposed to just being carved and served), but was still pretty good. Price is right
I ate lunch at Butterfields for the first time around 1 PM, with group of five other guys. When I saw the menu, I'll have to admit that I was somewhat disappointed, because the lunch menu had nothing of "Southern" cuisine, but rather your typical sandwich-and-salad lunch fare. With my mind stuck on the "Southern" theme, I ordered chicken-fried chicken (or steak, if you prefer), the only thing on the dinner menu which seemed to fit the bill. Mashed potatoes came with the plate, I ordered green beans and sweetened iced tea.
Good diner-type food with large portions. Prices ok, but higher than Denny's. Went during non-peak hours and service was excellent. Had the open faced roast beef platter, was hot and tasty. Friend had breakfast, said it was good too. Will definitely come back.
The waitress brought my iced tea promptly, which was extremely sweet, great if you like it that way, not so good if you don't, with lemon. It sounds like a small thing, but I appreciate the lemon, because many restaurants skip on it these days. Our food came out after a reasonable amount of time. All my mates received generous portions of nice, fresh-looking food. As for myself, my chicken-fried chicken came out, with the chicken and mashed potatoes smothered with gravy. The chicken was decent, but nothing special. The mashed potatoes were good, since they clearly started with real potatoes (not instant), and made them the way mashed potatoes are supposed to be made. They used pole beans for their green beans, though not cooked Southern style, were well-cooked, with a good flavor and seasoning. All the guys seemed to enjoy their meals, as I heard no complaints. The help was attentive, and were prompt with drink refills. I'm sure I'll go back again, but I won't be in the mood to order Southern.
